The Globe & Mail have written a cool article about Toronto rapper Abdominal, an artist I had the privilege of featuring on Youtube recently. There are a few quotes from me sprinkled throughout. Here's part of the piece :

Abdominal's video was selected for the YouTube homepage (U.S. and Canada) by Billy Reid of verytasteful.com, who YouTube tapped to pick his favourites for the hot spot. Reid is a Toronto based artist who creates original quirky music videos that have earned him a YouTube fan base, like the popular “ White Chicks & Gang Signs.” Reid made a conscious effort to select Canadian videos, especially ones that haven't been showcased on YouTube.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in to let me know.

Well, so far 2008 is coming along nicely. I'm currently working at CBC this month, helping out at Radio 3 (a great group of people, btw). I'm also in the process of creating a new video with Vancouver photographer Adam Schelle. We're excited about the idea, and hopefully we'll be able to shoot that sometime next week. I also have some cool news involving YouTube, but I'll post that sometime next week or so.

Keep you eye on the site, I'll be posting new music very, very soon.

Behind the scenes.

I've been working hard these last two weeks over in Vancouver for CBC's upcoming show Exposure. I'm basically writing, producing and editing pieces right now, with a little composing for good measure. The show doesn't premiere for another 6 weeks, but you can check out the site at cbc.ca/exposure. I encourage any of you guys n' gals to upload your best stuff to the site, as you could get your stuff broadcast on national television. There is also a cool $25,000 web development deal that you could win, so check it out.

The Gemini Awards went really well, and everyone was pleased with the results. I've added two of the spots in the shorts section, so check them out.

I recently met with the producers of Off-Centre Television, and will now be writing sketches and creating pieces as a segment producer for the show. It airs on KVOS on Saturday nights at 11:30(check your local listings).

I'm happy to report that I am currently working with the producers of the Gemini Awards on some fun pieces for the upcoming awards show. More details to follow.
